WARNING: Believers need to check all worldly things with scripture. I've only seen a few of these movies and I don't really get the "spirituality" connection for them.....ESPECIALLY 'Avatar'! You kidding me? I liked it, I didn't take it seriously, I saw it as a really good sci-fi version of "Pocahontas" and "Custer's Last Stand" rolled into one....but SPIRITUALLY? SPIRITUALLY, it is about worshipping the planet goddess, the trees, the animals, THE CREATION instead of the Creator. Believers have to be very careful not to buy in to the new age spirituality that has NOTHING to do with our Lord and Savior Jesus. The spirituality in this movie was much more like Pantheism or Wicca than anything true. The Lutheran magazine prints some VERY scripturally questionable things....of course the ELCA has thrown the Bible out the window, so I shouldn't be surprised. (Notice several of these "spiritual" movies were rated R?) |
